Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of Bloocky, a free, open-source calendar plugin for Neovim developed by Átila de Freitas (“the developer”).

1. The software

Bloocky is licensed under the MIT License. The MIT License governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and redistribute the code. These terms supplement it for users of the software and do not restrict any right the license grants you.

2. No service is provided

Bloocky is software you run on your own machine. The developer operates no servers, hosts no accounts, and provides no hosted service. Anything Bloocky connects to — Google Calendar, a CalDAV server, your own devices on your local network — is a relationship between you and that provider, governed by that provider’s terms.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the calendar accounts and credentials you configure, and for complying with the terms of the calendar providers you connect (including the Google Terms of Service if you connect a Google account).
  • You are responsible for backing up your own data. Bloocky stores data in plain files precisely so that you can.
  • You must not use Bloocky to violate any applicable law or any third party’s rights.

4. Third-party services

Bloocky can connect to third-party calendar services. The developer is not affiliated with Google, Apple, Fastmail, Nextcloud, or any other provider, and is not responsible for their availability, behavior, or changes to their APIs. Google Calendar is a trademark of Google LLC.

5. No warranty

As stated in the MIT License: the software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. Calendar synchronization involves third-party servers the developer does not control; while Bloocky is designed and tested to avoid data loss, you use the sync features at your own risk.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability — including lost data, missed events, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — arising from or in connection with the software or its use, as set out in the MIT License.

7. Privacy

Bloocky collects no data. See the Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled locally on your device.

8. Changes

These terms may be revised over time; changes are published in the repository with an updated date. Continued use of the software after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
